Cancer survivors are often overwhelmed when their support teams disappear after they ring the bell. Yet the long-term side effects, fears, and lifestyle care still need to be addressed. On today’s show, I had the honor of bringing an oncology registered dietician to the show to share with us what she has learned from working with the cancer community.
As a registered dietician specializing in oncology, Stacy Roberts RD is passionate about improving the quality of nutrition, wellbeing, and overall health of cancer patients after diagnosis and treatment. She is helping patients with the long-term lifestyle changes they need to maintain a healthy life and prevent further complications.
Stacy helps patients overcome their fear of recurrence by teaching them how to eat healthfully. Survivors of cancer are taught how to eat healthy, real food in order to decrease their chances of recurrence. Working together towards a healthier lifestyle and an improved relationship with food, is the main focus in thriving after cancer. Our patients’ immune systems will be strengthened by the foods they are eating, and our patients will be able to fight and prevent cancer more effectively.
